Community Ideas: Building a Community Around Something You and Your Friends Enjoy Doing Together

Would you like to form a special community that regularly meets up to do something specific? Perhaps mountain biking every weekend. Hiking every second Sunday or a gourmet dinner club that meets up once a month. Here I cover different kinds of activities with an emphasis on community.

Naturally, you’ll want to choose something that the friends you have in mind will be interested in. Rock climbing will probably have way less appeal than meeting up for basketball. If you can establish a community of friends on the sweet spot of your life all the better. Sweet spots in my life during Project Fellowship were comedy parties, board game parties and squash. These are things I really enjoy doing and it’s great to be able to meet up with other people that share your enthusiasm for the event.

One of the benefits of taking the time to sift through potential activities that you may not be familiar with is that you just may stumble across a passion. It could end up being one of the best investments of your life.
