Glow Stick Ideas that Will Bring Some Neon Luminescence to Your Parties

In ‘Glow Stick Ideas‘ we’re going to be looking at the mind boggling number of ways glow sticks have been used.

If you were looking for proof of human ingenuity and creativity look no further than how they have been used. It’s a decorative celebrity that has been placed at the bottom of pools, drink glasses,  inside balloons, made into various shapes and wrapped around the human body like a coat of many colors. Hell, it’s probably been on the space shuttle at one point!

Here are 16 glow stick ideas to give your party a colorful boost with the use of glow sticks.

Glow Stick Balloons

While blowing up a balloon pop in a small glow stick. After you’re done blowing up several balloons of different colors hang them upside down.

Glow Stick Chandelier

Find a suitably shaped plant hanger then decorate it with two dozen glow sticks. Great for children’s parties.

Glow Stick Pool Balloon Lanterns

Insert glow sticks into balloons then place the balloons into a pool.

Floating Glow Stick Surgical Gloves

Pop a glow stick into a surgical glove then blow up the glove and tie it up. Place a dozen of them into a pool to add an eerie element to your Halloween party.

Glow Stick Beverage Tub

For this you’ll want to put some glow sticks at the bottom of a large glass or plastic bowl. Put lots of ice over it and place the bottled drinks you want into the bowl.

Glow Stick Balloon Ghosts

Have some glowing balloon ghosts greet your guests as they enter. Simply put a glow stick into the balloon your blowing up. Draw a ghostly face on the balloons after you have finished and then hang them from the ceiling around the door way.

Glow Stick Ghost Cups

This is a fun decoration children could help you with. Plastic cups are turned upside down. Cute faces are drawn on them. Place a glow stick inside each one. Pile them on top of one another. So five on the bottom spread out in a line. Four on top of them to make a second row.

Glow Stick Styrofoam Figures

All kinds of interesting shapes can be made with styrofoam balls and glow sticks. For Halloween a black cat (paint styrofoam balls black) with glow stick whiskers and a tail. Spiders can also be made by attaching a small styrofoam ball to a mid-sized one then adding eight glow sticks for legs.

Glow Stick Pool Lights

Having a night pool party? Throw in a bunch of glow sticks into the pool. Make sure the one’s you’re using are safe for doing so.

Glow Stick Drink Lights

Take a cup and put a glow stick in the bottom of it. Then place a clear plastic cup inside the first cup and put the drink into that.

Glow in the Dark Bowling

Place glow sticks inside plastic bottles and use them as bowling pins.

Glow Stick Ring Toss

Make a few circles using glow sticks and put nine bottles together. Throwing a glow stick over the top of a bottle so that it securely stays on top gives you a point.

Glow Stick Fish Bowl

Large round rings of glow sticks inside a fish bowl.

Glow Stick Chains

Create a simple long chain of glow sticks that hang around the main food table.

Glow Stick Chain Suit

Make a long chain of glow sticks and hang them around your body.

Glow Stick Table Decorations

Make large glow stick circles and put one around each plate on the table. Put several glow stick rings one above the other into glasses for a nice decorative effect (not for drinking out of.)
