Marquise Diamond Engagement Rings
Marquise diamond engagement rings showcase a brilliant long ovular diamond with pointed ends. This particular style is also referred to as the Navette Cut which comes from the Latin ‘navalis’ and means ‘boat shaped.’
The Marquise Cut’s history can be traced back to around 1745 during the reign of Louis XV of France. He commissioned his court jeweler to come up with a diamond cut that was inspired by the beautiful shape of the mouth of his mistress, Mme de Pompadour. She was given the title of Marquise in 1745 and the diamond was a tribute to her.
The following Marquise cut and shaped diamonds possess astonishing beauty. Diamonds of captivating brilliance set in yellow and/or white gold.
The prices of the four featured rings in this collection range from $144 – $2560. Please see the ring’s page for it’s current price.
