Author Christine Arylo Shares Tips on the Practice of Self-Love

Self-love is about honoring yourself so deeply and having so much respect and unconditional love for yourself that you would never put yourself into a situation that doesn’t honor and respect you that same way. So says Christine Arylo author of Choosing Me before We. The benefits of self-love make it worth looking into. These include empowering us to put an end to abusive relationships, looking after ourselves better and not comparing ourselves negatively to others.

In the video, Ms. Arylo talks about the 40 day Take Care of Me Practice. It’s where you wake up in the morning and ask yourself, “What do I need to do today to take care of myself?” Whatever comes to mind you do it that day. It might be sitting down for 30 minutes and reading that new novel, going for a jog around the block or meeting up with a friend for lunch. The reason it’s 40 days is so you can establish it as a habit.

Check out the video. She mentions a number of interesting things including the Take a Comparison Diet. I’ve included it in this section because I believe self-love can impact our friendships as well.
