Olga Kurylenko Films: A Memorable Leading Lady

Olga Kurylenko films include Oblivion, Quantum of Solace and The November Man. The French-Ukrainian actress and model has starred along side leading men like Tom Cruise, Daniel Craig and Pierce Brosnan.

Great Expectations

Olga Kurylenko was born in the Ukraine.

On a holiday trip to Moscow when she was 13 she was discovered by a model scout who approached her at a train station. As a result she returned to Moscow a year later to attend modeling school. It was around that time she also took up acting as a hobby.

Three years later she moved to Paris  by herself where her career as a model and later as an actress snowballed with great velocity.

Olga Kurylenko Modelling

In 1996, she signed up with Paris-based Madison modelling agency.

By the time she was 18, she had appeared on the magazine covers of Vogue and Ellie. She then went on to became the face of brands like Bebe, Clarins, and Helena Rubinstein.

Modelling proved a lonely experience for her, however. She recognized that it was acting that made her happier than anything else.

Olga Kurylenko Movies

Olga’s early film career was unusual to say the least.

Her second movie, The Ring Finger, was about a young woman who loses her job in a bottle washing factory. She ends up working for an eccentric scientist in a laboratory who specializes in preserving people’s personal mementos such as animal bones and inanimate objects. A love affair with ominous overtones arises.

In her third movie role she played a creepy, nameless vampire who enters into a blood-soaked love affair with a young American tourist (Elijah Wood) in “Quartier de la Madeleine.” This was Vincenzo Natali’s five-minute contribution to the European omnibus film Paris, Je T’Aime (2006).

After that she landed a role in the movie Hitman (2007) alongside Timothy Olyphant. Then a minor role as Natasha in Max Payne (2008).

Other notable roles followed in movies like Quantum of Solace (2008), Oblivion (2013) and the spy thriller, November Man (2014).
